Second Poncho

This poncho is bigger than the other. It is for my friends 9 year old daughter. She is very tall and slender so I am hoping it will fit. It is bigger than it looks in the picture.

These squares were made with the center of the snowflake square and then I just worked it until it was square. These squares are 16 inches so it is a bit bigger than the last one which were 12 inch squares. I love the color combination. I used Caron Mill ends in Monet and also a mill ends purple. I used an "I" hook and after I put the squares together I did a round of single crochet then 3 rounds of double crochet and the ruffle is 2 triple crochets in each stitch and 9 in the corners. I am very pleased with this one.

Hugs and love to everyone and have a great weekend.

Another project complete

Here is another idea I got from my sister Ghost. I made this for one of my friends little girls. I have 2 more to make since there are 3 of them. I can see her wearing this in the spring time when it is a little cool.

I've been on a roll here and hope that I can keep it up. I sure seem to fall behind often but not this week.

New projects

Well last night I managed to get 4 squares done for the poncho like sis made. I am making it for a friends little girl. I get most of my ideas from sis.

I did however see a pattern today in the Lion Brand Notebook (See link on right sidebar). It was for a spiral scarf made with Homespun. Well I am not a fan of home spun but I tried it anyway and after an episode and half of Friday Night Lights I had it finished. It took exactly one skein and I used a size "P" hook. I did not follow the pattern exactly, I only followed the chain 140 and then I went on my own and made it a bit ruffler than they did. I also only felt I needed 3 rows instead of 4. Here is a picture of me wearing it. I have it doubled over and then through the fold . I really like it and it is so warm, and not bad either.

Yup, that's me wearing the scarf.

The New and Improved Rodney

Some folks put their buttons or tac pins on hats. I have decided to put them on Rodney. He will hold all my collectable buttons and tac pins. I think he is perfect for the job and I think he is happier. :) If you click on his photo he will load bigger so that you can read all the buttons. Enjoy!

Crochet Summer Top

I can't believe it. With the help of my sister I have made my first garment for adults. I am so tickled. I made this for my mother-in-law. I hope she likes it.

I used a "G" hook and Moda Dea Beadnik yarn in white. This yarn has seed beads all through it and it is beautiful. I can't imagine why they discontinued it. The pattern we used was from the Lily Sugar and Cream web site. Not sure of the url but I know that sis will post it when she posts about her top.

So here it is.

The newest addition to the barn, meet Rodney.

We have a new addition to Scarlet's Yarn Barn and his name is Rodney and as you can see he loves Coke. My husband thinks he is the cat's meow. He sure fits in nicely with the family. I used the same pattern as I did for the chicken but this time I stuffed him with fiber fill and did his features a bit differently. He is very plush and cuddly and I think that I will be hugging him frequently. :)

Today I started a gift for my mother in-law, I am doing it in Moda-Dea Beadnik in white. The pattern I m using is a free leaflet that I received from a yarn group that I belong to. It is called Crochet Summer Top and it is put out by Lily Yarns. It is sort of a tank top but very scalloped. Sis and I are working on this project together.

Today I was off so Sis and I got to spend the entire day together just crocheting and talking via ichat. I am so glad that we get to see each other everyday and we get to share so much together even though we are over 3000 miles away from each other. She is my lighthouse in life that shines so brightly and lights the path in which I need to walk. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful sister.

Cluck Cluck

Well this is yet another pattern that my sister turned me on to. I did my own thing with the outer trim and the face. I used a size "G" hook and peaches and cream cotton. If you'd like to make one I am sure that my sister has the link to the pattern on her blog or will have shortly. I am not too patient with posting urls or links. Sorry sis.

Hope you try this and have fun with it.

Have a great Wednesday!!!! *HUGS*

Yes, I go for days without posting and then I have two posts. Imagine that. :)
