Me, a Teacher? also Special Olympics Scarves

I'm sure that you all know that the scarves this year for the Special Olympics are to be a specific color. Those colors being, Red Heart Super Saver in the colors white and Delft Blue. Well I have white on hand in my stash but no blue. I knew I needed some so I ordered 3 skeins from the yarn group that I order from and just found out last night that they did not have the Blue.

Last night after dinner and the fact that we were so close to Wal-Mart I decided to stop in. They had 4 skeins left of the blue that I needed so I bought them all. After getting to the register and waiting in line it got boring. Well, then this woman stands behind me and starts asking me questions.
"Do you crochet or knit?" Crochet. "Is it hard to learn"? "I know this seems weird but would you teach me?" My daughter would also love to learn, I would gladly pay for your services. I told her that I would be honored to show her and her daughter. I then whipped put my business card, handed it to her and we shook hands and the ball is in her court now. Her name is Laureen, and she seemed so excited about the idea. I will keep you posted.

I am so excited too, that will surely give me a crochet buddy. Lets hope she gives me a call.

How very lucky for that woman that she found you. She is getting a really great teacher, and don't even know it. And you are so right that you will have a crochet buddy and who knows this may grow into a crochet club. How exciting!

Oh how exciting Scarlet...I so hope she does call and that you form a long lasting crochet relationship....My land lady asked me the other day to show her how to make a hat, she can crochet, but cannot read a pattern well....I wish I had someone to crochet with, and the worse part is my mom also crochets but we never do it together...
Good luck.....

I hope she contacts you - how wonderful to be able to find a crochet friend right in your neighborhood. I actually found a really good friend of mine at a local WM in the yarn aisle.

I always love your blog and am inspired by your many beautiful projects, so I nominated you for the I Love This Blog award. Check out http://craftycorral.blogspot.com/ for more info. :)
