Cotton and Lace

Well, since I ran out of thread for the centerpiece I am working on and waiting for it to come in the mail I have finished a smaller project and started another Between Meal Centerpiece. Now mind you I did try to get more thread the other night when I ran out. After going to 2 different Michael's and 2 JoAnne's only to be disappointed because they do not sell AUnt Lydia;s thread. As matter of fact they only carried about 5 balls of Royale thread in black, white and beige. All the stores I went to were like this. *sigh* I also noticed that the yarn section is really getting small. It's a sad thing to see and notice.

So here are the two projects that I have been working on since my disappointment. The first one is a frilly face cloth that took only about 15 minutes to make.

The second it the first 12 rounds of the same centerpiece from my previous post but in a #10 sized thread instead of #3.

Well that is what I have been doing this week. Oh, before I forget. I also had another crochet class this week. My students are progressing well. They can now do slip stitch, foundation chain and also single crochets and turning their work. They are so pleased and so am I.

That is all for me. Remember to "Crochet a Memory"

Your talents have not bounds sis. Love both items but I think I am going to copy you again and make some of those washcloths for my girls totes. The pink is so pretty. I will do mine in Christmas colors since that is when they will receive them. Thanks for the idea. And once again, beautiful work! Why am I not surprised?

I deleted the other comment because I went back and found the original post about your classes. It is the lady and her daughter, correct? Sounds like you all are having a wonderful time and learning a lot too. I find when I teach, I also learn. :-) And I did once teach a mother/daughter as well. Congrats on this success. And also - beautiful work as always.

Your work is so lovely. I also have noticed that thread is hard to come by. I use to be able to get it at WalMart but now it is basic white and Ecru.
I will let you know as soon as the labels come in and thank you very much, They said that this year, already, we have received more labels than all of last year.
Keep up the good work....Oh the shrug/shawl idea came about from Cass. She knit her mom one, and informed me it was just a giant rectangle then you sew up the "sleeves" some. I am using the up down stitch.

Glad classes are coming along so nicely. Sorry to hear you too are experiencing the cut back on yarn and threads in your stores there. Been that way here too...frustrating. Yarn is still good at JoAnne and Hobby Lobby, but definately reduced elsewhere.

Take Care

Love the colors in both your above projects.
