Lots of Parties and my First Model

Well it has been a week. We had a huge party at our home for a good friend with 25 guests this past Saturday and it was wonderful. I can't believe I pulled it off. I was exhausted afterwards but it was SO worth it.

On Sunday I was asked to be a hostess at another party that had about 60 guests and I again can't believe that I made it through. It was a wonderful party as well and the home that it was hosted at was absolutely stunning.

On Monday evening we had 5 guests for dinner at our home and it was yet another success!! Did I mention that I've been having a ball?

On Tuesday evening we were asked to dinner by our dentist to a nice Mexican place and there were 7 of us there and we had a wonderful time. I guess that you've figured out why I have not blogged in a while. :)

I wanted to share with you my brothers new grand-baby Ethan. I made him this jacket and hat that he is wearing and he wore it this past July 4th. He is a big boy and is so full of joy and smiles. Isn't he a doll? They call him "Chunky Monkey" or "Baby Boy" and he LOVES his Papa, (my twin brother).

Well that's all for now. I hope to get the chance to blog more frequently from now on.

*HUGS* to all my readers.

More Scarves

Well I am in the mood to make scarves. I just love the pattern that I got from Sandie's website. Here are two more that I just finished. One is with "Vanna's Choice" in Rose Mist and the other is in "I love this Yarn" and the color is Autumn Ombre which is just stunning. It reminds me of the changing of the leaves in Michigan in the fall. I think I will be keeping this one for myself.

This also is the first time that I have used the "I love this yarn" from Hobby Lobby. I have to say, "I love this yarn"!! It is so soft and nice to work with. We do not have any Hobby Lobby's here in California but there is a place online that you can purchase it through. Thanks to Sandy and her blog post I was able to locate it and order a few skeins to try. I will be buying more once my stash goes down a bit. I used 2 skeins of the Rose Mist and one of the Autumn Ombre and the scarves came out almost exactly the same length.

Well that is all for now so I will close. I hope you all had a great weekend.

I missed it!!

I just checked and I totally missed my Blog-a-versary!! It was April 1st. How could I miss that? Oh well I will make sure I don't miss 2 years next April.

Have a great day everyone!!

"V" Stitch Scarf

I just finished this scarf this morning and I just love the color. I used one of Vanna's Choice new Mist colors and they are absolutely beautiful. This was Tangerine Mist and I am also making the same scarf out of the Rose Mist.

They will be gifts. I used a pattern that my friend Sandie at Crochet Cabana has. It is her daughters creation and so beautiful. The pattern can be found here. Kate's V-Stitch Scarf I just love how lacy it looks and it is so soft to touch. I really like Vanna's yarn.

Anyway, that is my post for today. Nothing else going on here. I hope you are all having a wonderful day, it is gorgeous here today.

Neurology Appointment

So I went to a Neurologist this past week because of my thighs going numb after walking or standing a longer periods of time. I have also been having horrible pain in my arms as well as numbness in my hands and fingers. I have had this for years in my hands, since the 80's and was diagnosed with Carpel Tunnel in my right arm. I had a steroid shot back then and never did anymore about it. Well now it is interfering with my crocheting and I can't let that happen.

So now he has done all the testing and I have severe Carpel Tunnel in both arms as well as a bad case of Restless leg syndrome. He has put me on Mirapex for the legs and I have been on it all week and it seems to be working well with no side affects. As for the arms, I go back on the 29th for a shot in each wrist and if that does not help then we will do surgery on both arms at the same time.

Sigh... that is my news for the day. Not so bad, it could be worse. I am blessed and happy and that is all that matters.

Hope you all have a beautiful day! *HUGS*

Happy July

It's hard to believe that it is already the 10th of July. The months are going by so fast. It has been a busy week so far with doctors appointments and party planning for summer festivities.

I've not been hooking as of late because of being busy. I am anxious to get back at it since my stash is growing by leaps and bounds. :) I am still working on the Lace up Baby Blanket but can't seem to get it out of the way. It is so pretty and I was so excited to start it but now that I am doing it I am finding it hard to keep me interested. I will finish it eventually.

I have been watching some DVD's ( The Closer, seasons 1,2 and 3) and I did read a good book ( Janet Evanovich, "Fearless Fourteen") while on vacation in San Diego. So my mind it not wasting away.

Here is a photo of some of the fireworks show that we witnessed off the deck of my in-laws home in San Diego. There were 5 different displays done to music on a local radio station. It was beautiful and breathtaking.
