Neck Warmer

Here is a photo sis asked me to publish for her. She had surgery yesterday on both her wrists and will be out of commission for at least five days. Middle of December before full recovery. All prayers are welcomed.

She saw a woman wearing one of these yesterday and hot to make one herself. So, as I sat with her this morning and watched she whipped this honey up in about an hour. I have got to have one for myself. It is really lovely and she looks so great wearing it.

She started with 70 chains. Turned and worked dc across starting in the second stitch from her hook, which was a size "N". She worked 10 rows of dc and then bordered the entire thing with a round of sc. She then sewed the end to the side to create the point in the front and it turned out so great in my opinion. She used the Black Lites yarn from Bernat in Big Blue. I can't wait to get started on one myself. I am off now to my blog to add it to my list of Works in Mind.

HAPPY TURKEY DAY TO ALL.

The Final Poncho

Well it is good to have all three of these off my hook. I had a blast doing them and I can hardly wait to give the to the girls. Here are photos of the front and back.
Front on the left side of your screen and the back is on the right side of your screen.

Now I am off to work on one of the afghans I have started. Have a beautiful, blessed day.

Second Poncho

This poncho is bigger than the other. It is for my friends 9 year old daughter. She is very tall and slender so I am hoping it will fit. It is bigger than it looks in the picture.

These squares were made with the center of the snowflake square and then I just worked it until it was square. These squares are 16 inches so it is a bit bigger than the last one which were 12 inch squares. I love the color combination. I used Caron Mill ends in Monet and also a mill ends purple. I used an "I" hook and after I put the squares together I did a round of single crochet then 3 rounds of double crochet and the ruffle is 2 triple crochets in each stitch and 9 in the corners. I am very pleased with this one.

Hugs and love to everyone and have a great weekend.

Another project complete

Here is another idea I got from my sister Ghost. I made this for one of my friends little girls. I have 2 more to make since there are 3 of them. I can see her wearing this in the spring time when it is a little cool.

I've been on a roll here and hope that I can keep it up. I sure seem to fall behind often but not this week.

New projects

Well last night I managed to get 4 squares done for the poncho like sis made. I am making it for a friends little girl. I get most of my ideas from sis.

I did however see a pattern today in the Lion Brand Notebook (See link on right sidebar). It was for a spiral scarf made with Homespun. Well I am not a fan of home spun but I tried it anyway and after an episode and half of Friday Night Lights I had it finished. It took exactly one skein and I used a size "P" hook. I did not follow the pattern exactly, I only followed the chain 140 and then I went on my own and made it a bit ruffler than they did. I also only felt I needed 3 rows instead of 4. Here is a picture of me wearing it. I have it doubled over and then through the fold . I really like it and it is so warm, and not bad either.

Yup, that's me wearing the scarf.

The New and Improved Rodney

Some folks put their buttons or tac pins on hats. I have decided to put them on Rodney. He will hold all my collectable buttons and tac pins. I think he is perfect for the job and I think he is happier. :) If you click on his photo he will load bigger so that you can read all the buttons. Enjoy!

Crochet Summer Top

I can't believe it. With the help of my sister I have made my first garment for adults. I am so tickled. I made this for my mother-in-law. I hope she likes it.

I used a "G" hook and Moda Dea Beadnik yarn in white. This yarn has seed beads all through it and it is beautiful. I can't imagine why they discontinued it. The pattern we used was from the Lily Sugar and Cream web site. Not sure of the url but I know that sis will post it when she posts about her top.

So here it is.

The newest addition to the barn, meet Rodney.

We have a new addition to Scarlet's Yarn Barn and his name is Rodney and as you can see he loves Coke. My husband thinks he is the cat's meow. He sure fits in nicely with the family. I used the same pattern as I did for the chicken but this time I stuffed him with fiber fill and did his features a bit differently. He is very plush and cuddly and I think that I will be hugging him frequently. :)

Today I started a gift for my mother in-law, I am doing it in Moda-Dea Beadnik in white. The pattern I m using is a free leaflet that I received from a yarn group that I belong to. It is called Crochet Summer Top and it is put out by Lily Yarns. It is sort of a tank top but very scalloped. Sis and I are working on this project together.

Today I was off so Sis and I got to spend the entire day together just crocheting and talking via ichat. I am so glad that we get to see each other everyday and we get to share so much together even though we are over 3000 miles away from each other. She is my lighthouse in life that shines so brightly and lights the path in which I need to walk. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful sister.

Cluck Cluck

Well this is yet another pattern that my sister turned me on to. I did my own thing with the outer trim and the face. I used a size "G" hook and peaches and cream cotton. If you'd like to make one I am sure that my sister has the link to the pattern on her blog or will have shortly. I am not too patient with posting urls or links. Sorry sis.

Hope you try this and have fun with it.

Have a great Wednesday!!!! *HUGS*

Yes, I go for days without posting and then I have two posts. Imagine that. :)

Shell Scarf

Sis turned me on to this patters so I had some new yarn to try and this is what my efforts produced. I used a size "D" hook and MODA-DEA Eclipse in the color Mauve. I loved the way this yarn worked up. It never split on me once. It flowed though my fingers like water. I would recommend this yarn for scarves or garments that you would like a nice drape to.

My sister did a post a few days ago with the scarf she made with this pattern. She was very creative and clever and made it a hooded scarf that is just beautiful. Please look for her link on the right side of my blog...Ghost.

Hope you are having a great week!! *HUGS*

Another finished project

Here is the doily that I started awhile back. I did not have enough thread to finish the pattern so I just did the last row with 4 single crochets in each chain space with a slip stitch in between to make it look ruffly. I am pleased with the outcome and am glad to have another project finished.

About the afghan in my last post. I do not like putting squares together and this is only the second afghan that I have put together. I know that it is not the greatest looking where it is stitched together. I am working on my technique and hope to get better at it. Any tips or techniques are welcomed.

*hugs*

It's finished!! YAY!

Well here it is. I am so glad to have this project off my hook. So glad, that sis has gotten me hooked on a beautiful pattern so I have started another "put it together" afghan. I just never learn. Anyway, here is a picture of the finished project.

Here is a sneak peek at the afghan that I just started last night. Sis and I are making the same ghan so it is going to be fun working on it together.

Hope you all had a great weekend and an even better week. *HUGS*
